in the roero green hills, a few kilometres from canale town, filippo and maria with their children gianni, laura and enrica spend the whole day in the vineyards taking care and carefully selecting the variety of grapes from which they will get their wines. the 15 hectares of vineyards are treated in the respect of nature, while pruning favours quality of the grapes over the quantity.
the gallino winery has a prominent presence in the roero area for the quality and passion that has been passed on from previous generations. stefano gallino born in 1857 was already producing barbera and nebbiolo. afterwards his son felice born in 1904 and the younger filippo born in 1939 together they gave origin to the family business. since then the winery gives its active contribution in growing quality wines in the area and the fame of roero all over the world. in fact, in 1972 the gallino winery is among the first wineries able to enhance the roero arneis, well known today in the better international markets as one of the best italian white wines.
